🇺🇸 Last weekend, I took the ’55 Chevy up Highway 1, crossed the Golden Gate in the fog, and headed to Sonoma Plaza for the annual Bear Flag Celebration hosted by the Native Sons of the Golden West.

Many people don’t realize that the California Bear Flag was first raised right here in Sonoma on June 14, 1846. Each year, the old flag is lowered, a new one is raised, and the story behind this important moment in California history is shared with members and visitors alike.

The ceremony takes place in Sonoma State Historic Park, right in the heart of the historic plaza where the original California Bear Flag was first raised.

Afterward, everyone gathers for a traditional chicken barbecue, good conversation, and a chance to connect with California’s past.

Have you ever visited Sonoma Plaza or attended the Bear Flag Celebration?

Summer always gets people thinking: “Should I move now or just wait?”

There’s no one size fits all answer, but TIMING does matter.

For buyers, summer often means more choices, with more homes hitting the market compared to other times of the year.

For sellers, it can be an opportunity to take advantage of stronger buyer activity and potentially higher sale prices before the market starts to slow down.

The key isn’t rushing into a decision. It’s understanding your options and making the move that’s right for your goals.

If you’re wondering whether now is the right time to buy or sell on the Coastside, let’s have a conversation. No pressure. Just honest advice based on what I’m seeing in the local market.

I grew up with newspapers. Now, most people get their news online.

Walking past these newspaper boxes in Half Moon Bay made me wonder… are we witnessing the slow extinction of print news? A few are still hanging on, but others have disappeared completely.

Do you still read a physical newspaper, or is everything digital for you now? 🗞️👇

Drove past this house on Johnston Street and had to stop for a closer look. 🔨🏚️

People in real estate love saying a house has “good bones.” This is pretty much what they’re talking about. The place has been stripped down to the framing, giving the new owners a clean slate to work with. In simple terms, “good bones” means the structure, layout, and overall foundation of the home are solid, even if everything else needs updating.

It’ll be interesting to see how this one comes together.

📊 Peninsula Market Update

Thinking about buying or selling on the Peninsula? Here’s what the latest numbers are showing:

🏡 Burlingame continues to favor sellers, with limited inventory and homes moving quickly.
🏡 Daly City remains competitive, offering opportunities for both buyers and sellers navigating a fast paced market.
🏡 Belmont and Foster City are seeing strong pricing, while selective buyers are creating a need for strategic pricing and preparation.
🏡 Brisbane and El Granada are showing a more balanced environment, giving buyers a bit more room to negotiate.

Every neighborhood tells a different story. The headlines may say one thing, but hyper local data is what really matters when making a move.

Curious what these trends mean for your home or your buying plans? Let’s connect and create a strategy tailored to your goals.
