eTrac collected multibeam data over a 270ft historic shipwreck while working in the Great Lakes.

eTrac has officially kicked off it's latest NOAA charting contract in Southern Green Bay, WI this week! The survey area, which spans from Southern Green Bay to Sturgeon Bay, was last surveyed in the 1940s. The area was determined to be statistically significant and in need of new data due to high vessel traffic and migrating shoals. Three eTrac vessels equipped with multibeam echosounder sonars will be used to collect high resolution sounding data of the lake. Conducting a modern bathymetric survey in this area will identify hazards and changes to the seafloor, provide critical data for updating National Ocean Service (NOS) nautical charting products and improve maritime safety.

The benefits of these efforts will be seen in many industries from vehicle automation and energy exploration, to land surveying and Hydrography.

It’s been a while since all of eTrac came together in person, so we decided to come together in a slightly different way. Our employees participated in a beach cleanup over various local beaches! Beach cleanups are a nice way to give back to the marine environment we work so closely with year round.

We encourage you to bring a spare garbage bag with you the next you head to the beach! Even a few minutes makes a difference.
