Who represents you matters! My past client wanted an investment home so we found this off market home which was being offered for $740,000. We negotiated a sales price of $615,000 and made the sellers pay off the huge solar system which was over $70,000! This became a home run. The home across the street just went into escrow at a list price of nearly $900,000 and our property is in better condition. Instant equity!!!

San Diego may roll back or eliminate a controversial city incentive that allows the owner of a single-family lot to build dozens of backyard apartments on it.

City council members unanimously directed city planners to bring forward legislation that could kill the incentive.

The incentive’s most controversial element is that it lets property owners potentially build an unlimited number of bonus backyard apartments, which the city formally calls “accessory dwelling units,” or ADUs.

It’s widely believed to be the most aggressive ADU incentive in California, and it goes far beyond what state law requires cities to allow regarding ADUs.

Shown is a 17-unit ADU backyard apartment project being built on Almayo Ave., a small, single family resident cul-de-sac in Clairemont.
