Getting the keys is exciting 🔑✨ but buying the house is only the beginning. One of the biggest mistakes new homeowners make is spending like the home purchase was the last major expense.

Here are 10 ways you can quickly become house poor after closing:

1. 🛋️ Furnishing the entire house immediately — Every room doesn’t have to be Pinterest-ready in month one.
2. 🚗 Buying a new car right after closing — A brand-new mortgage + brand-new car payment can tighten your budget FAST.
3. 💳 Running up credit cards — Especially when you’re using them for furniture, décor and home upgrades.
4. 🔨 Doing every renovation at once — The kitchen, floors and bathrooms can wait. Prioritize what actually needs attention.

Your Realtor had a weekend full of FIRSTS! ⚾️❤️💙

Not only did I attend my very first Braves game, but this was my first baseball game EVER! And excited is definitely an understatement. 😂

Was it incredibly HOT? 🥵 Absolutely.
Did I stick it out until the very end? You already know! 😂
And the best part… THE BRAVES WON! ⚾️🏆

Safe to say my first baseball experience was a success, and I may officially be a baseball girl now. 👀😂

When I’m not opening doors to homes, apparently I’m cheering from the stands! 🏡⚾️
