✅ The National Housing Affordability Index improved from 95.5 in June 2025 to 102.3 in June 2026.

✅ An affordability index above 100 means the median family income is sufficient to qualify for the purchase of a median-priced home, based on NAR's affordability assumptions.

✅ Mortgage rates also eased from 6.90% a year ago to 6.57%, helping improve affordability even as home prices continued to rise.

🌴 Here in Florida and across the South, the outlook is even stronger!

The Southern U.S. Housing Affordability Index is 110.5, meaning the median family income exceeds the qualifying income needed to purchase the median-priced home in our region.
