The Love Sanibel Community Gathering will be on Sunday November 3 from noon-3pm and is a time for residents, business owners and visitors to come together, connect and celebrate our love for each other and our island. There will be a program at 1pm with live music by the Sanibel School Elementary Choir and other performers, remarks by Mayor Richard Johnson and Councilwoman Holly Smith, and a video montage of why we love Sanibel.
Local businesses have donated over 80 doors prizes and three grand prizes including a 2 night/3 day stay and $200 food/beverage gift card to Tween Waters Resort and Spa, a Sanibel Strong Pendant from Congress Jewelers, and a private family session from the Sea School. Free hot dogs, chips, soda, water and Pinocchio's ice cream, crafts and activities for kids and adults, a professional photo booth and many island organizations will have display booths.
The event is hosted by St. Michael and All Angels Church and generously supported by sponsors; The City of Sanibel, The Community House Association, The Island Store, Pinocchio's Original Italian Ice Cream, Bank of the Islands and HMSHost.
In collaboration with SCCF and the City, it has also been expanded to be a Love Sanibel Back weekend with a beach cleanup the day before, on Saturday November 2. Join SCCF’s Coastal Watch on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9–11 a.m. for an island-wide effort to clean Sanibel’s beaches. Volunteers will remove Hurricane Helene and Milton debris and other trash, helping restore dune habitats and clean our beautiful beaches. Sign-up at https://dash.pointapp.org/events/217936
