Renters are finally getting a little breathing room...but Santa Barbara, is not like the rest of the country!!! UGH
The national median asking rent dropped to $1,667 in February, the lowest it’s been in 4 years and down 5.1% from the 2022 peak.
Some markets saw major relief:
Austin -18.2%
Birmingham -17.1%
Memphis -16.1%
But in Santa Barbara, we are not seeing that same kind of drop.
Demand is still strong, inventory is still tight, and well-priced rentals are still moving quickly. While some parts of the country are cooling, Santa Barbara continues to hold near peak pricing.
The big takeaway:
National rents may be easing, but locally, Santa Barbara is still a very competitive rental market.
