Thinking about moving to Santa Barbara? Here’s what the glossy brochures usually leave out. ☀️🌊

Yes, it’s beautiful. Yes, the lifestyle is special. Yes, there are mornings that really do look like beach walks followed by coffee in workout clothes. 😉

But as someone who relocated here myself, I also know there are things you don’t fully understand until you’re living them:

→ Santa Barbara’s microclimates are very real (ask me about moving from 110° heat into a 60° July evening 🥶)
→ The cost of living isn’t just about the purchase price
→ Healthcare access deserves more thought than many people realize
→ Building community takes intention (but it absolutely happens 🤍)
→ Nature is part of the lifestyle and part of the planning

I wrote a new blog post sharing the things I wish more people knew before making a move here, not to discourage anyone, but to help people make thoughtful, informed decisions.

Because for the right buyer? Santa Barbara is a truly special place to call home.

Earth 🌎 Day didn’t just happen here…it started here.

In 1969, a massive oil spill off the Santa Barbara coast changed everything. It devastated our shoreline, and sparked something bigger. One year later, the first Earth Day brought 20 million people together and helped launch the modern environmental movement.

That history still feels close to home.

The beaches we walk, the trails we hike, the views we protect - they’re all part of that story.

And the invitation is pretty simple:
pay attention, take care, participate.

If you’re looking for a way to engage this week, there are so many opportunities locally - beach cleanups, the Earth Day Festival, or even just time outside (it counts more than you think).

I wrote a little more about this on the blog if you want to read the full story. Link is in my bio 🫶🏽

Happy Earth Day 🌿
