Maybe Montecito Is Not For You. It’s not for everyone.
Montecito probably isn't the right place if you prefer traffic, crowds, and constant noise.
You may not enjoy living here if you like being surrounded by high-rise buildings instead of mature trees, mountain views, and the Pacific Ocean.
If privacy isn't important to you, Montecito's gated estates, secluded lanes, and discreet lifestyle might feel unnecessary.
If you prefer chain stores and shopping malls, the charming boutiques, local cafés, and independently owned businesses along Coast Village Road may leave you wanting more.
You might find the pace too slow. People here still stop to talk. Lunch can stretch a little longer. Sunsets are often considered a valid reason to delay an appointment.
If culture and the arts aren't your thing, you may not appreciate the galleries, performances, museums, music, and creative energy found throughout the community and neighboring Santa Barbara.
And if you don't enjoy outdoor living, Montecito's beaches, hiking trails, equestrian properties, golf courses, wine country excursions, and year-round Mediterranean climate may not hold much appeal.
But if privacy, beauty, security, exceptional dining, a strong sense of community, and a lifestyle that values quality over urgency sound attractive, Montecito may be exactly what you're looking for.
Some places are simply somewhere you live.
Montecito is often a place people choose to stay.
Thinking about making a move to Montecito? I can help.
