Right out of Beverly Hills Cop. Loved the movie and that song. Judging by the last two days, the heat is on!

Sandy scoffs. Says I don't know what heat is. Yes, we may get high temps here in Santa Clarita, but the humidity is usually quite low, and the temperature drops significantly once the sun sets. Her days growing up on a farm in South Georgia, now that's heat! High temps and high humidity, and for most of her upbringing, no AC. That's sultry heat, and not the good sultry....

So, yea, it's hot here in Santa Clarita, but just a short drive away are the mountains, lakes, the beaches, or someone's pool, maybe even yours.

Mother's Day Time Machine

Last Sunday, and Happy Mothers Day to all, we thought we'd check out the new road that connects Newhall Avenue with Sierra Hwy after visiting my late Mom and Dad at Eternal Valley. Not only did we see the huge new warehouses, distribution and logistic facilities, including Amazon and Drink Pac, but stumbled upon a new Historical mini park highlighting the Pioneer Oil Refinery, apparently the 1st successful oil refinery in California built in 1876.

It was kind of surreal on one side of the road were the massive display of modern delivery logistics, and the other a hundred year old oil refinery. I don't know how we would have been able to see it, or even know it was there without the new road.

It's another example of Santa Clarita history and nice to see that the city did such a great job creating the park to highlight this CA Historic Landmark. There's so many cool places in Santa Clarita if you just take a minute to explore. Of course having that minute in our crazy days is not that easy.

The Santa Clarita market is definitely changing… but that doesn’t mean it’s crashing. It means buyers and sellers need to be smarter and more strategic. 📊🏡

Inventory is up, homes are taking a little longer to sell, and buyers finally have more choices than they’ve had in years. At the same time, prices are still holding relatively stable and interest rates remain in the 5’s to low 6’s depending on the loan type.

One thing we’re watching closely? The “move-up buyer” market has slowed a bit due to higher rates and everyday costs, but opportunities are still there for buyers and sellers who understand the timing of today’s market.

Remember… there’s rarely a “perfect” time in real estate. The real question is: Are you where you want to be living?
