MINI-BIO - I spent the majority of my life living in Los Altos Hills (CA), a rural "town" in the Santa Cruz Mountain foothills, where I became enthralled with the natural environment surrounding me. The lion's share of my 40 years living in "the hills" was closely linked to my career working in Silicon Valley hi-tech companies--from Fortune 500 to 2-person startups. As I grew older, and as much as I enjoyed living in the south bay area, my passion was to find acreage on the other side of the hill where the life and culture was "night and day" relative to her Silicon Valley neighbor. With my father and brother, I built my own home in Soquel (1999-2001), in the Santa Cruz Mountain foothills, where my family resides today. As my patience for the commute from Soquel to San Jose was wearing thin, I decided to re-imagine myself in a career outside of the "1's and 0's" of Silicon Valley. I decided to become a Property Manager in the City of Santa Cruz in 2015, where I continue to work today. Yet, my instincts lead me to a parallel pursuit--real estate--in 2019. Launching my career with KW Realty Santa Cruz, I later found a better fit for my lifestyle that demanded greater time flexibility, so I joined Exp Realty in late 2021.

I've always considered myself a hybrid of blue collar and white collar. I think that enjoying doing my own maintenance of my five acre parcel as much as I enjoy working inside an office setting has rounded my personality into one that allows me to naturally communicate with a broad spectrum of individuals.

To wrap up, I'm honestly happy to have chosen Exp Realty. I've found a new home here, so to speak. I'm a relative newbie to both real estate and to Exp and I am leveraging the knowledge base of experienced agents who work here. The support has been phenomenal so far--from technical to mentoring. The energy and the passion of the agents is quite noticeable. I think that the Exp business model has a lot to do with that. We don't just win as individual realtors. We also win as a team and as a company. Exp recognized and deployed a business model that mimics those that made Silicon Valley start up companies into some of the most recognized brands in the world.

I have just joined Exp Realty and I'm launching this page to build awareness of my particular background as an agent. There are numerous real estate agents offering their services in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Central Coast. Each of us try to differentiate ourselves from the others in one way or another. I guess that my unique quality and area of specialization is that I have spent my last 50 years living in Santa Cruz Mountain communities, on both both sides of "the hill." I spent the majority of my life in Los Altos Hills (1969-1970, 1972-2001), a city in Santa Clara County, then shifted over to the Santa Cruz County side to build my home in Soquel, residing there with my family from 2001 to today. Many cities in the Santa Cruz Mountains are a blend of "hillsiders" and "flatlanders"--small cities like Los Gatos, Saratoga, Los Altos/Los Altos Hills, Santa Cruz, Aptos and others. And whereas some of the cities lie on one side of the hill and in close proximity to Silicon Valley businesses, the cities on the other side of the hill offer the advantages of a beautiful coastline and recreational activities. In short, life in the Santa Cruz Mountains is nothing less than spectacular!
