The New Mexico Museum of Art✨
It was founded in 1917 as the Art Gallery of the Museum of New Mexico and is one of the oldest art museums in the western United States. The museum's collection consists of over 20,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, and mixed media pieces. The collection primarily focuses on art produced in New Mexico and the Southwest, with a particular emphasis on the art of the Pueblo people and the Taos Society of Artists.
In addition to its permanent collection, the museum hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing works by contemporary artists as well as historical figures. The museum also offers a range of educational programs for visitors of all ages, including lectures, workshops, and tours.
The New Mexico Museum of Art is housed in a historic building in downtown Santa Fe, which was designed in the Pueblo Revival style by renowned architect Isaac Rapp. The building features a beautiful courtyard and a stunning entrance portal, as well as several galleries and exhibition spaces.
