There are so many reasons I feel fortunate to call Santa Fe home, and SWAIA Indian Market is certainly one of them.

The 2026 SWAIA Indigenous Fashion Show left me with an extraordinary sense of awe, appreciation, respect, and gratitude.

The creativity and beauty of the designers and models were breathtaking—but what moved me most was the storytelling. Through clothing, color, materials, movement, and design, the artists celebrated Indigenous identity and tradition while also giving powerful expression to the history, resilience, and experiences of Indigenous peoples.

It was beautiful. It was thought-provoking. At moments, it was deeply emotional.

Bravo to the designers, models, artists, and everyone who brought this remarkable show to life.
