The Santa Fe Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce the purchase of property located at 12719 FM 1764 Road, a strategic investment that will support future economic development opportunities in our community.

This acquisition reflects our commitment to Santa Fe’s long-term growth and success. While planning efforts are still underway, the property presents exciting opportunities to attract investment, support business development, and strengthen our local economy.

The Santa Fe EDC and Santa Fe City Council are working together to develop a vision for the property and will be soliciting proposals for its future development. Additional information will be shared as the Request for Proposals (RFP) process moves forward.

We look forward to keeping the community informed and sharing more details as plans continue to develop.

It is with great sadness that we share that our Economic Development Corporation Director, Dr. Charles “Charlie” Hueber, passed away this last weekend.

Although he joined the City of Santa Fe team only a few months ago, he immediately made a lasting impact on our team and community. From his very first day, he brought enthusiasm, dedication, and a genuine passion for serving others.

He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those around him. His friendly personality, contagious smile, and ability to make others feel welcome left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

While his time with the City was far too short, the impact he made will not be forgotten. We are grateful for the time we shared with him and for the many ways he helped move our community forward.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Charlie will be deeply missed by the City of Santa Fe.

Join the Santa Fe Citizen’s Police Academy at the Santa Fe Police Department for a 9-week course designed to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what they do!

Class Details:
📆 Begins May 18, 2026
🕗 Mondays | 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
📍 Santa Fe Police Department

Participants will experience a variety of hands-on and informative sessions, including:
- Dispatch Night
- Criminal Investigations Nights
- Patrol Nights

This course is free, but be sure to register soon as space is limited to the first 30 registrants.
