Touring a home? Don’t get so distracted by the beautiful kitchen that you forget to look at the things that will actually affect how you live there. 🏡
A home can look incredible in photos, but an in person tour is your chance to pay attention to the details.
Here are a few things worth checking:
🏠 The layout: Walk through the home and think about how the rooms connect. Does the floor plan make sense for your everyday life and entertaining?
🚪 Storage: Open the closets. Look at the pantry, garage, cabinets, and other storage areas. Beautiful finishes are wonderful, but having enough space for your belongings matters too.
🔍 Condition: Look beyond the decor. Pay attention to ceilings, walls, floors, windows, doors, and the exterior for anything that may need a closer inspection.
🚗 Parking: Think about your vehicles and your guests. Make sure the garage and driveway offer the space you actually need.
🌳 The surroundings: Step outside and take it all in. Consider privacy, views, noise, neighboring properties, and how the location feels.
✨ The details you can’t see online: Natural light, room proportions, sounds, smells, and the overall feeling of a home are much easier to understand when you’re standing inside it.
A beautiful home should impress you, but the right home should also work beautifully for the way you live.
