This year, my gratitude hits different. ❤️
I’m thankful for friends near and far — old, new, and everyone who has shown up for us in ways I never imagined.
On November 3rd, our ordinary day became every parent’s worst nightmare. Hailey — who had just turned 6 — was diagnosed with ALL B-cell Leukemia.
I’m thankful for the pediatrician who trusted her instincts and ordered labs when she noticed Hailey’s coloring was just slightly off. That decision changed everything.
I’m thankful for Children’s Hospital Oakland, who made our two weeks inpatient as gentle, supportive, and even fun as possible.
I’m thankful for the science and research that make this form of childhood cancer curable.
I’m thankful for Hailey’s smile that hasn’t dimmed for a moment — and for her big sister Sarah, who somehow always knows how to make her laugh.
And I’m endlessly thankful for this community lifting us up as we step into a very hard year ahead.
There will be an end to this.
Hailey will come out the other side strong. 💛🎗️
