Choosing a dental office isn’t just about location or price… it should be about safety too 👀

Here are a few things to look for when you walk in:

🦷 Are instruments coming out of sealed sterilization pouches?
🦷 Do you see staff changing gloves and washing hands between patients?
🦷 Are surfaces (chairs, trays, lights) being wiped down between each patient?
🦷 Is the office clean… not just the waiting room, but the clinical areas too?
🦷 Are they using proper barriers (like covers on equipment)?

You deserve to feel SAFE in the chair, not just comfortable.

Most patients don’t know what to look for… but now you do 🤍

🚨 Let’s talk about something most patients don’t even realize…

Not all dental offices are created equal — and some cut corners you should NEVER have to deal with.

Here are a few 🚩 red flags to watch for at a non-compliant dental office:

🦷 Instruments don’t come from sealed sterilization pouches
🦷 Staff not wearing gloves or changing them between patients
🦷 No protective eyewear offered to you
🦷 Dirty or cluttered treatment rooms
🦷 You’re not asked about your medical history or updates
🦷 Rushed appointments where nothing is explained
🦷 Reusing disposable items (yes… it happens 😳)

Your safety matters MORE than convenience or cost.

A good office will:
✔️ Follow strict sterilization protocols
✔️ Take time to explain everything
✔️ Make you feel comfortable asking questions
✔️ Treat you like a person, not just a patient

The autoclave cycle doesn’t correct problems that happened before packaging.

If instruments weren’t:
• properly cleaned
• fully dried
• correctly packaged

…the cycle can’t fix that.

Sterility starts long before the autoclave.

What’s one infection control habit you’ve seen in an office that made you think…

Not calling out offices.
Not judging.
Just curious what people are actually seeing in real life.

Things like:
• contact time not being respected
• wet packs being used
• overloaded sterilizers
• documentation not being completed
