We have a truly remarkable team here in India. This house will be completed all the way up to the adobe tile roof in just one month! We are using authentically sustainable methods and materials. Locally sourced, non toxic save the cement mortar - which can be mitigated.

Dioxins migrate out of cement into the soil - however if you use fungus such as lichen and mushrooms growing at the base of this cement - the dioxin that migrates during heavy rain is absorbed by the fungus and broken down into a completely organic compound that is then further broken down into the soil.

The house, when finished will cost less than $8,000 dollars to build - including the cost of paid local labor. If you are serious about wanting to help promote truly sustainable development, please consider giving to Natural Villages program development, today. We are here to drive sustainable development world-wide within this generation. It CAN be done!

Our pilot home construction is moving very quickly, thanks to the expert builders here in India. The problem here, is that Indians have not been utilizing the "boots and cap" method of protecting earth walls from rain, and they have not been using long-straw which creates a strong internal wall bond, or making sure that there is adequate sand for the molecular clay-to-sand bond that causes the walls to dry into rock-like strength. This pilot project is designed to educate local architects and engineers to choose truly sustainable and profoundly lower cost methods for new construction all across India. THANK YOU ARAVINDAM FOUNDATION!
