๐ฅ PUT YOUR CAR KEYS NEXT TO YOUR BED AT NIGHT
Tell your spouse, your kids, your neighbors, your parents, the Dr.'s office, the girl at the grocery store, everyone you meet. Put your car keys next to your bed at night.
If you hear a noise outside your house or someone trying to break into your house, simply press the panic button on your car. The alarm will go off, and the horn will continue to honk until you turn it off or the car battery dies.
This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home at night and start putting your keys away, think about this: It's a security alarm system you probably already have and it doesn't require installation. Try it. It's going to come out from most everywhere inside your house and keep honking until the battery dies or until you reset it with the button on your key chain fob. It works if you park in your driveway or garage.
If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, chances are the burglar/rapist won't be hanging around. After a few seconds, all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who's out there and the criminal sure wouldn't want that. And remember to carry your keys with you as you walk to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way. This is something that really should be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.
It would also be helpful for any emergency, like a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone. My mom has suggested to my dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and doesn't hear him. He can set off the car alarm and then she'll know there's a problem.
I read about it somewhere
This can save a life!
