Answer: You can find me in one of my happy places, baking/cooking.

It's a late post and the bread is halfway gone now but nevertheless, this was the latest from sourdough.

How do I have a 13 year old son?! I remember the pregnancy as though it was yesterday. He's my first born, the one who makes me smile, checks on me like he's my dad, yet makes me want to pull my hair out. I'm so blessed to be your mama (or as you still call me mommy). I've watched you grow from the womb to now and I'm amazed at your growth. I'm amazed at who you are becoming and I can't wait to see who you become (but not too fast!). I love you to infinity and beyond.

If I ever labored on Labor Day, it was today! 😅. BUT, I won't complain because food (Mac & cheese, baked beans and BBQ chicken) was made and eaten along with dessert (peach cobbler) AND the kitchen is clean! Now just to make sure we're ready for school (homeschool co-op) tomorrow 😉.

Today, whatever you did (were productive, relaxing, or even thought about buying a home), I hope it was a good day.

One thing about me is that I was raised not to waste. So on today's baking episode, I present to you sweet potato brownies with a marshmallow glaze (yes all homemade). The picture truly does this no justice. Even the little one who doesn't like sweet potato nothing (I'm trying to see if she's actually mine 😆) gave this a thumbs up 😋. As you can see, it's already been eating on and a piece was left 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣.

I saw a friend's post and I had to share her words, bc as a veteran spouse and one who comes from a military family, I agree 💯!

"Just a reminder before yall make me mad!!!

There is nothing good, happy, or blessed about Memorial Day."

Thanks Marquetta Johnson, I couldn't have summed it up any better.

I encourage everyone to take a minute just to remember those and their loved ones.
