Nokomis, Florida is one of those places people drive through without really realizing what’s tucked in there.

And that’s kind of the point.

You’ve got older Florida, Gulf access, boating, established neighborhoods, and then suddenly brand-new communities popping up nearby like they got a memo nobody else saw.

It sits right between Venice and Sarasota, so you get access to both without necessarily feeling like you live in either one.

And yes, Nokomis has my very favorite beach.

Not because it’s flashy.

Because it isn’t.

It feels more local, more relaxed, and a little less interested in impressing anybody.

Nokomis is easy to underestimate.
