So thankful that we were able to grab these sweet babies easily before the storm rolled in! A kind neighbor came to us after seeing them dumped in an undeveloped wooded neighborhood nearby... We sprung into action and were over there within minutes. They were covered in mud from running through the ditch and could’ve easily been hit by a car or snagged by wildlife, luckily they are all safe and will get the care and loving homes they deserve!

My heart is devastated for all of the animals that were dumped, left behind, displaced & lost because of this monster natural disaster. We got pretty lucky this time around, but Mother Nature is not a force to be reckoned with.

There is always a better solution than tossing or abandoning your pets. Pets are FAMILY and should be treated as such! If you are struggling to care for your animals, please reach out to me or Rescue Garage privately before you reach that extreme, and we will help anyway we can. 🩵

The North Port Fire Rescue Honor Guard will present the live, in-person 14th Annual Remember the Fallen Memorial 5K Run on September 7, 2024. Inspired by the events that took place on 9-11-01, this will be a time to remember, honor and support the first responders and members of the armed services who protect and serve our community and country every day.

There will be some road closures early in the morning starting at 0630 til 0930. The runners will be making their way back into the neighborhood behind CIty Hall, so if you live in this area you may experience some delays in the morning leaving your house. NPPD and other volunteers will be at the intersections to help direct the traffic as well.

If you live along the race route, we would love to have you cheer on the runners as they pass your house, or you can join us on the city green and cheer them on from there.
