🚧 Palmer Ranch Development Controversy 🚧
The Sarasota County Planning Commission voted 6–1 to move forward with a massive project in Palmer Ranch — bringing 500 homes, 300 hotel rooms, and buildings up to 85 feet tall.

Commissioner Mitzie Fiedler cast the only “no” vote, objecting to the commercial use and a special exception allowing hotel buildings to exceed height limits.

Residents argue the 138-acre strip is too small for such large-scale development, raising serious traffic and community impact concerns.

Despite opposition, the plan now heads to the County Commission for final approval on December 16.

Couldn't ask for better from Florida Life! Blasted on the boat to Gasparilla. Had a fabulous quiet lunch at the famous Pink Elephant. The pink and elephant theme on everything gave it the extra touch of "Special " met new iguana/ gecko species we dont have in Sarasota. Little guys were very friendly . Cruised back the Intercoastal at nearly Sunset. ...and that is why I Sold the horse farm and moved to Sarasota!

No word on the Siesta Key house. But my Moms house on Casey Key and the Casey Key Fish House both survived!!!
