I need to share some difficult news about my sister Mary.
Mary passed last Sunday. She took her life. She struggled with drug & alcohol addiction all of her adult life and finally had success in leaving that behind three years ago. She then got COVID badly, which ravaged her body. Her hands shook uncontrollably, and it affected her memory. She was no longer able to work. She moved from Sarasota to the Keys to be near her son Aaron. Her memory continued to decline. Aaron said recently she was not able to remember words. We all watched as our Mother endured the horrors of Alzheimer’s. I believe Mary knew what was coming and was not willing to subject us all to that again. As painful as this is, I am grateful that the Hell she lived in is finally over.
She is being cremated. We already had plans to be on St George in late August. I will plan a service for her while we are there. The attached photo is of Mary & my daughter Rachael. Three years ago, while living in Sarasota, Mary was a regular at Rachael’s yoga class.
