📣Great news coming out of Tallahassee! The Hometown Heroes program just got $36 million more in funding. What does this mean, you ask?!

👉This means that there is financial help to full-time employees who live and work in Florida and earn less than $137,100 for those who live in Sarasota & Manatee County. The maximum down payment assistance available per homebuyer is $35,000, or up to 5% of their first mortgage loan amount. To get started, homebuyers must connect with one of the participating loan officers (we can connect you) and be a first-time homebuyer (veterans are exempted from this requirement). Just to clarify, the IRS definition of a first-time homebuyer, means they must not have owned and occupied their primary residence for three years prior to their new home purchase. This includes individuals who have never owned a home, as well as single parents who have only owned with a former spouse while married.

🤯Monday Trivia: Did you know that one of the very first golf courses was in Sarasota? In 1886, John Hamilton Gillespie arrived in Sarasota and built a practice course consisting of two greens and one long fairway between what is now Main Street and Ringling Boulevard. That course is one the oldest recorded golf courses in the nation. Which is why Sarasota is known as "The cradle of American Golf." ⛳️
