Today I am sad.

I'm not where I want to be right now — not physically, not financially. Physically, I’m not with my beautiful Inner Circle family in Texas right now.

Why? Because this year has been brutal as a business owner.

Am I okay? Not today.
Will I be okay? Yes.
Will things improve? Yes, I believe they will.
But right now... it’s just hard.

Rather than keep this real part of me to myself today, I felt that someone needed to hear it and to be told - it's ok to not be ok today.

Do I need to hear "it’s all going to be fine" or "just look on the bright side"? Nope. Not today.

Instead, I’ll be crawling into my blanket fort, coloring like a 5-year-old who just found the crayon box of dreams. And yes, I’ll be hanging out with both Ben and Jerry for a while. They get me.

If you’re struggling, please know you’re not alone. Social media can make it seem like everyone’s thriving and living their best life, but many of us have hard days that never get posted.

It’s healthy to admit when you’re not doing well, rather than to put on a brave face for appearances. Life can be both beautiful AND overwhelming at the same time. (Hello - LIFE!)

So, if you need support, talk to someone. It’s okay not to be okay. And it’s also okay to have a blanket fort and a little ice cream party while you work and wait for things to get better.

I'll grab the crayons.

💥 How could I not see it, when it was RIGHT in front of me?💥

Even after 13 years, I’m still learning new things about the Fascinate system – and yesterday I had a HUGE revelation! 🤯✨

It all started at The National Association of REALTORS annual convention in Orlando, 2011, when I first “met” the amazing Sally Hogshead as she captivated us with her keynote on "How to Fascinate." I was mesmerized, hooked instantly. 🎤📖 I bought the book, took the Fascinate Advantage Assessment, and immediately began sharing this brilliance with every real estate agent who took courses from me. It can be VERY tough to learn how to truly stand out in a crowded, competitive and comodetized marketplace. THIS book was the answer for me!!

Then in 2018, I became a Certified Fascinate Advisor. Since then, I’ve LOVED elevating my ability to help individuals and organizations uncover their unique Advantages – the way the world sees them.

🎉🏡 **Celebrating 25 Years in Real Estate!** 🏡🎉

HOW HAS IT BEEN 25 YEARS????

June 2024 marks a significant milestone for me—25 incredible years in the real estate industry! It's been a crazy rollercoaster journey filled with unexpected growth, learning, and the privilege of helping countless individuals.

My journey began in California in June 1999. It started with me obtaining a real estate license so that I could become a mortgage loan originator without going to jail (a high priority early on).

3 years on the retail side of lending. Then, 3 years on the wholesale side of lending, where I ACCIDENTALLY discovered my passion for teaching real estate courses. Talk about UNEXPECTED!! Becoming a real estate educator and then a national real estate speaker was beyond my wildest expectations. Who could have seen THAT coming???

One of the most unexpected aspects of all happened early on—having income the likes of which I had never had before (as a young mom and college dropout) which allowed me the freedom to leave my abusive first marriage in December 2000 after 14.5 years. This financial independence was a turning point that empowered me to create a new, fulfilling life for myself and my girls.

My 25 year journey was a total roller coaster!!! It took SO many unexpected turns. I started teaching real estate courses locally, then nationally. I found myself in leadership roles with the Women's Council of Realtors, both locally and at the state level.

My finding my National Speakers Association family in 2009, earning my Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) in 2019 and serving as President of the Mountain West Chapter of NSA were gloriously unexpected and unbelievably magical experiences.

Earning 17 NAR designations and certifications, earning my Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI), my Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) and serving on the National Real Estate Educators Board were milestones I never anticipated but are proud achievements in my professional journey.

Becoming certified as a Fascinate Certified Advisor, discovering and falling head over heels with the Enneagram and becoming certified as an Enneagram Coach, becoming certified in ProScan and embarking on my nearly 3 year journey to become an ICF Certified Coach and graduating in February this year were all things that I never anticipated!! Starting my podcast was also something I never expected!! In October, my podcast will be 3 years old!!!

Last summer, another unexpected yet VERY exciting chapter of my journey began as Jason Hewlett and I decided to combine forces to help speakers build and fly their "airplane." With the right wing focused on mastering their message and the left wing on mastering their business, we aim to help speakers truly soar.

There just are not words to express my love and gratitude for my clients, colleagues, and friends who have supported and trusted me throughout this journey. Your belief in me has been the driving force behind my success and passion for this industry.

Most of you know that my real estate compliance speaking finish line is in sight. (MORE COWBELL!!!)

In 6 months and 2 days (Friday, December 13), I will be retiring completely from my role as "The Compliance Queen." It's time to close this chapter and focus on new adventures and passions!!!
