Our employee stories often begin mid-career, and Jeff VanSlooten’s is a great example.

Now a Project Manager at BCI Construction, Jeff returned to St. Cloud State University to earn his degree in Project Management. He started as an intern, gained hands-on experience in the field alongside site leaders, and worked his way up to leading projects of his own.

Over 11 years with BCI, Jeff has built strong relationships with clients, vendors, and teammates. Today, he’s paying it forward by mentoring the next generation of interns and Project Coordinators as they grow their careers in construction.

It’s hard to believe that 30 years ago, we started with just three people and a vision. Now, we’re grateful to be a team of 100+ employees, serving communities across Central Minnesota from Sauk Rapids, Downtown St. Cloud, and Mora.

This growth wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our employees, clients, and community. We’re truly thankful to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Today we’re sharing Story 2 of our 30 Years, 30 Stories series: Milestones in Our Company History. Because at the heart of it all, we are stronger together.

Our first story for our 30-Years/30-Stories Anniversary features the University of Minnesota Medical School/ CentraCare, the first since 1972, located right here in Central Minnesota. Owned and operated by CentraCare, the program focuses on educating future physicians who aspire to support Greater Minnesota and support the long-term, rural vitality.

BCI helped address strategic logistical needs and the neighboring campus area while retrofitting the structure. CentraCare’s partnership with the University of Minnesota and the strategic design of HGA Architects also served as partnered leaders in the success of this medical school.

We’re honored to have served the Greater St. Cloud community; building lasting relationships, completing meaningful projects, and supporting the people who make this area home. And along the way, we’ve collected some incredible stories we can’t wait to share.

The newly remodeled QXO Sports Deck is ready for the St. Cloud ROX Home Opener! ⚾

St. Cloud ROX Baseball, QXO (formerly Simonson Lumber and the deck's new naming rights partner), and BCI Construction are excited to unveil the upgraded deck for the 2026 season.

Enhancements include all-new decking, elevated viewing platforms to improve sightlines, and eight-inch-wide drink rails for added comfort and convenience. The modernized space is the perfect place to entertain groups, enjoy ballpark refreshments, and cheer on the ROX all season long!
