*Marin Country is an exclusive area and an ideal location between the city of San Francisco and nearby nature destinations such as the Napa Wine Country, Calistoga Spas, Stinson Beach, Mount Tamalpais or Muir Woods Redwood Forest. Walk to downtown and enjoy local cafes, restaurants, boutiques, spas and art galleries. Take the Ferry to San Francisco or drive to 'the city' over the Golden Gate Bridge (10-15 mins). (You may consider a cycle ride or a walk over the bridge.) Local hiking and beaches are also conveniently located in the Marin Headlands, which is bordered by National Park. For longer adventures, take Highway 1 for a breathtaking drive as far south as Carmel/Monterey, Santa Cruz, Big Sur or north to Pt. Reyes National Seashore and Mendocino. September-October is Indian Summer and is the warmest time of the year marked by beautiful weather, no fog and golden late summer days.
