🏡 Today’s REALTOR® class was about something homeowners definitely need to know about: TERMITES! 🐜

And more specifically—Formosan termites.

Living in the South means termites are a reality, but Formosan termites can be especially destructive because of the size of their colonies and how aggressively they can infest a structure.

One of my biggest takeaways today involved spray foam insulation. Termites don’t necessarily eat the foam, but they can travel through or behind it, potentially hiding evidence of activity and making certain areas of a home more difficult to inspect. That’s something homeowners—and buyers—should be aware of.

A few reminders:
🔎 Regular termite inspections matter
🏠 Know what type of insulation is in your home
🌳 Stay alert for signs of termite activity around the house and property
📋 Ask questions about previous treatments, bonds, and inspections when buying a home
