What’s in a street name? This week’s street of the week is Mad Turkey Crossing!🏡✨
Ever been cruising through The Landings and thought, “Wait, who actually named this place?” Because let’s be real, some street signs are doing a lot of heavy lifting, but “Mad Turkey Crossing” is in a league of its own.
If you think it’s just a quirky name pulled out of a hat, think again. This one comes with a side of local attitude! The legend goes back to when these lots were first being platted. Apparently, one particular Mama Turkey was NOT a fan of the new neighbors. She made it her personal mission to chase the surveyors’ cars every time they drove down the road. She was fast, she was feisty, and she earned that street its name.
And if you think that’s just a tall tale, just ask the legendary Susan Connelly of The Landings Company. She’s got the first-hand receipts! Susan was once showing property in the area when that same infamous bird flew right out of a tree and completely covered her windshield mid-drive. Talk about a dramatic showing! 🦃🚫
