A return to Brazil, then back to the UK, then 8 years in France, met my husband, two little girls later, I arrived to Westchester with my family. For the first time, when moving to another country, I didn’t have to master the language, but I found out that living in US is different from all the other countries I had ever lived in. It seems obvious now, but it was not so obvious 6 years ago! Even if you move here as an expat, (like in my case) there are plenty of things to learn before you decide where to live and where your children are going to go to school… And the thing is, you don’t even know what questions to ask, because you are not aware of the differences. Having lived in Brazil, England, Spain and France I can say I know the culture and I’m able to help other families enjoy a better start their lives here. Soon after arriving, real estate became my professional goal, and now that I feel at home in Westchester,I practice it. Visas and relocation packages do come with almost all corporate expatriate offers. What doesn’t come however, are the smart tips about housing that could give you a peace of mind about your decision.
