Illinois Executive Order in
Response to COVID-19

The Government Affairs Committee and Andy Murray summarized the Governor's Executive Order for your review. Please note we are not attorneys, but this is our best interpretation of the Order. If you have any legal questions, please contact your attorney.
You can leave your house for:
• health and safety
• necessary supplies and services
• outdoor activity
• to take care of others
• essential infrastructure
Essential Infrastructure: To provide services that includes building management and maintenance, airport operations, highways, and transportation, among other things. In other words, individuals may leave their homes to provide any services or perform any work necessary to operate, maintain, and/or repair Essential Infrastructure.
Essential Business and Operations:
• Stores that sell groceries and medicine
• Food, beverage, cannabis and agriculture production
• Organizations that provide charitable and social services
• Media
• Gas stations and transportation
• Financial institutions
• Hardware and supply stores
• Building and construction trades
• Mail, post, shipping, logistics, delivery and pick-up
• Laundry services
• Restaurants for consumption off premises
• Supplies to work from home
• Supplies for essential businesses and operations
• Transportation
• Home-based care and services
• Residential facilities and shelters
• Professional services
• Day care centers for employees exempted by this order
• Manufacturers, distribution and supply for critical products
• Hotels and motels
• Funeral Services
