I just finished a class on the Texas Veterans Land Board programs, and one of my biggest takeaways had nothing to do with simply getting a VA loan.

It was this:

WHO you work with matters.

There can be opportunities and programs available specifically to Texas veterans—and your lender and your real estate agent need to know what questions to ask and what options may be available to you.

This is also why I value having access to local lending professionals who understand our San Antonio military community and Texas programs, even when they’re backed by a national company.

Your mortgage conversation shouldn’t ONLY be:

❌ “What’s the interest rate?”

It should also include:

🏡 What programs might I qualify for?
🇺🇸 Are there Texas veteran benefits I should explore?
📍 Do you understand the local market?
🤝 Can my lender and agent work together to help me evaluate my options?

Sometimes the biggest value is learning about an option you didn’t even know to ask about.

Veterans thinking about buying, building or purchasing land in Texas—let’s make sure you know what questions to ask.
