Buying a Home? Don’t Let the Interest Rate Be Your Only Focus!
Mortgage rates have been climbing, with the national 30-year fixed average reaching 7.40% this week.
While that’s certainly something buyers need to consider, there’s another side to the conversation that often gets overlooked.
Negotiating!
With homes spending more time on the market in certain areas, some sellers may be more willing to negotiate terms that help buyers financially.
That could include seller contributions toward closing costs, interest rate buydowns, or repairs that would otherwise come out of your pocket.
Here’s something I always encourage buyers to consider: Sometimes negotiating the right terms can be just as important as negotiating the purchase price.
And not every neighborhood is experiencing the same market conditions. What’s happening in Queen Creek may look completely different from Scottsdale or Chandler.
Understanding those differences, evaluating comparable sales, and knowing what to negotiate can make a significant difference.
If you’re considering purchasing a home, I’d be happy to help you explore your options and understand where opportunities may exist.
