No woman could ever be fully prepared for her first baby after birth, and maybe even the next one too.
My pregnancy was a dream, no complications, barely any symptoms ~ truly a great blessing that I don’t take lightly.
The end of my pregnancy was certainly challenged with a 🏠 move, business plans to slow down, and some serious exhaustion. But I stayed strong to get us through the finish line.
What was I preparing for at the end of my pregnancy? Labor. What wasn’t my heart ready for? Postpartum.
Labor is easy compared to what you experience once the little one is in your arms. Meeting Lukas changed my life (our lives) forever. Taking in his most perfect face, sweetest cry, and bonding quickly…My heart literally grew 100 times bigger.
My journey as a mother has just begun. I have so much to experience and to learn along the way. I’m eternally grateful for my faith that has kept me strong and my mother, who has stayed with me during every moment along the way.
The village of woman who came together to show love and kindness to Jason and I is something I never expected. I’m so grateful for those who saw me at my worst during my first 2 weeks postpartum.
I had to grieve my postpartum experience that I didn’t plan for. An emergency hospital visit for preeclampsia, a declining milk supply, emotional distress, and a complicated plan to get through it all!
I thank God for my tribe who has supported and fed Jason & I over the last 4 weeks 💚
Though this journey has been filled with the most beautiful ups & unexpected downs, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love Jason more & more every day. Loving Lukas is the greatest gift of them all!
Life is so precious. The most intricate miracle ordained by a beautiful Creator. Excited for what’s to come as a new version of Gina emerges from this experience 💫
