Arizona homeowners, consider this your official “we (almost) survived summer” declaration🌵🍂

Fall is one of my favorite times to do a little home reset, especially after months of Arizona heat, dust and monsoon weather. I’m a “fall organizer” as much as I’m a “spring cleaner” and there’s nothing like a purge & prep for each equinox and season shift.

Here’s a few things worth checking this time of year:

• Roof, gutters and drainage post monsoon season
• HVAC filters + a system check after working overtime all summer
• Weatherstripping and seals around windows and doors (fun fact: scorpions can shrink themselves to the thickness of a dime 🦂)
• Trees, branches and landscaping around the house (feels like I’m always bagging up extra debris in this time)
• If you’re in Northern Arizona - fireplaces, chimneys and heating systems before the cold nights arrive
• Irrigation systems and exterior plumbing as temperatures start changing

One of the least glamorous truths about homeownership is that maintaining the little things usually costs a whole lot less than repairing the big things later.

Protect your home and your investment. Then go enjoy the fact that the desert is finally becoming habitable outside again, aaand you might just feel sexy while posing as the handyman.😂🍁

These wonderful Prescott gals have been meeting to play Bunco together since I was a kid. That means they’ve been getting together for about 25+ years. So much has happened in that time - they’ve raised children into adulthood, taught classrooms full of Prescott’s youth, laughed and cried through motherhood (and back to laughing through grandmotherhood), buried some of their dearest loved ones, stayed strong for their families, traveled far and wide, and hosted their little bunco nights as a means to connect and catch up through it all.

It was my mamma’s turn to host the evening and I got to drop in and sub. She’s had a hell of a year of loss & caretaking and desired some extra fun with the gathering, so she declared a theme and the gals showed up in full color.💄

Reminders:
• You’re never too young or old to costume up and get in character.
• Hang onto the girlfriends that love you through the ups & downs.
• Mumus are as comfortable as they are colorful.
• 25 years goes really fast.
• RING THE DAMN BELL! 🔔

A fun fact about me: I stress-eat mini marshmallows as my oral fixation (instead of smoking a ciggy)😂😅

The even funnier fact about this, is - it’s a thing I’ve been not necessarily proudly resorting to for a while now (but glad it’s better than smoking); anyhoo - turns out, one of my clients does this too and we randomly discovered this during their spring escrow and had a good laugh.

We would scour the mls hotsheet on the phone together, 2000 miles apart, planning their cross-country move and chomping on tiny magical sugar clouds while our dogs stress ate their beds and such (we both have small high energy boy dogs that are highly attuned to their mothers.) Sometimes you just connect with people on a level beyond words and marshmallows.

That said, they closed on their house in May, moved their whole life back to Prescott, and though the process was a bit stressful, as moving can be - not one cigarette was smoked nor marshmallow left unturned in the closing of their dream-home.

Some closings just hit a little closer to home.🥹🔑

This one started with two souls dreaming about exploring a new life in Arizona, and ended with a packed moving truck, a long cross country drive, and a new home of their own in Prescott.

There were a ton of moving parts & challenges along the way, but I’m so proud of the way my clients took everything on and extremely grateful for the little team that made it possible.

To add another layer (if you’re here at all for astrology/numerology) - we went under contract one day before the end of Mercury Retrograde, pressed on through a multi-eclipse season, and their new house number totals 7, which represents a quiet spiritual sanctuary, inner wisdom, self-discovery, and faith.🌘🌑🌓

Two of the things I loved about these clients is that they’re dreamers AND doers. They make quick and firm decisions, take chances, and when their intuition talks, they listen.
Their tenacity and trust, paired with a great lender and a whole lot of teamwork behind the scenes, got them to the finish line right on time.

Getting to hand them their keys after supporting the unfolding of their epic journey was one of those full circle moments that helps me love what I get do. Especially knowing that this next chapter for them is one of great healing and a whole new adventure. 🪨🌲✨
