It’s said that the iconic granite rocks we see today, developed roughly 1.4 billion years ago when molten magma cooled deep underground; tectonic shifts pushed the granite upward and erosion wore away the layers of dirt and rock beneath, eventually exposing the rocks to open air, where they continue to be shaped by wind and weather.

Whether you’re in the water, viewing from above, boulder hopping, running Peavine trail with the pups, or playing cards under the veranda in a rainstorm, this is one of the best places in Prescott to marvel at + enjoy🙌

A deeper education in any space I enter is something I value because knowledge is power, yes, and it is also protection.

I’m sure a lot of us vaguely remember our licensing classes, which were filled with thousands of facts that would eventually show up on a random selection of 160 exam questions. You may also remember instructors reminding us that becoming a real estate agent is highly risky and “it’s only a matter of time before someone sues you”😅 Fear mongering? Maybe. Wrong? Probably not.

Like many rapid courses, licensing is taught with the goal of helping students pass the state exam, not necessarily preparing us to actually work in real estate. There is so much more to learn, and most of it comes through experience.

What I appreciated about the GRI is that it provided a deeper education on how to actually do the job. It expanded my knowledge & awareness, introduced me to some other great agents and teachers, and strengthened skills that continue to help me better serve.

There is certainly no shortage of licensed agents in Arizona, but I’ve never been interested in simply having a license or designation. It’s always been my desire to deeply understand the fabric that stitches everything together and care for my people on a level greater than a transaction.

I’m grateful to have completed the designation, but even more grateful for the reminder that learning and growth never ends!

Home is where we build our lives, make memories, and gather with the people we love. It’s also something we all share a responsibility to help protect.

Every Arizona summer brings beautiful blue skies, warm evenings… and an increased risk of wildfire. Here in our community, that reality is all too well understood.
While we can’t control the weather or the wind, we can each take a few simple steps to help protect our homes, our neighbors, and the first responders who work tirelessly to keep us safe.

This checklist only takes a few minutes, but those small preparations can make a meaningful difference.

🍂 Clean your gutters.

Dry leaves + pine needles become fuel.

Especially important after windy days.

🌿 Create defensible space.

Trim brush and grasses away from your home.

Keep trees pruned away from roofs.

🔥 Move combustibles.

Don’t store:

• Firewood
• Propane tanks
• Cardboard boxes
• Extra lumber

right against your house.

💦 Check your hose.

Can it reach every side of your home?

If not, now’s the time to fix that.

🚗 Have an evacuation plan.

Know:

• Two ways out
• Where you’ll meet family
• How you’ll transport pets
• Important belongings & documents to grab

🌾Stay safe this summer.
