Some of the hottest air of the entire summer is now moving in, and it could send temperatures soaring across the region over the next several days. Around 40 million people are under heat alerts, with dozens of cities expected to challenge or break daily temperature records before this is over.
This won’t be the kind of heat that comes and goes in a single afternoon…
It’s expected to build, settle in, and push some areas to their hottest temperatures of the season.
