People often wonder how folks survived the blazing Arizona summers before AC.
My family immigrated to Phoenix from New Zealand in the early 50s. I had great conversations about this with him. First off he said swears that it wasn’t as hot back then before all the pavement. They swam in ditches all the time. Heck I did too when we were young. They slept outside on cots with wet bedsheets. And without being in AC your body does adapt.
How many of you out there know the now forbidden pleasure of ditch swimming?
