We hiked the coastal forests of Ecola State Park, explored Short Sand Beach and Smugglers Cove at Oswald West, and followed the Elk Flats Trail to the cliffsā€”with Roosevelt elk along the way.

From Haystack Rock and Cannon Beach to historic Astoria, every mile offered something different.

Rainforest. Rugged cliffs. Wildlife. The Pacific.

And finally, a Cannon Beach sunsetā€”the perfect kiss from the Oregon Coast.

One thing I strongly recommend when buying a homeā€”especially one built before 1978ā€”is having the sewer line scoped with a camera.

šŸ”¹ Older sewer lines can hide expensive problems ā€” cracks, deterioration, root intrusion or collapsed sections.

šŸ”¹ You canā€™t see it during a normal home inspection ā€” a camera scope shows us whatā€™s happening underground before you own it.

You can fall in love with the wrong house in five minutesā€¦ and pay for that mistake for years.

Fresh paint, beautiful floors and a remodeled kitchen are easy to see.

The expensive problems usually arenā€™t.
