Ever since she was a little girl working hard on the family farm alongside her father, she proved herself as a hard working person and was taught that you must work hard to get anywhere in life. One of her hobbies and dreams as a child was to be an Architect. She would draw homes, landscape and people for hours. She received an Art Scholarship in high school and then went on to college at Northwes

t Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. After leaving college, she didn't continue the pursuit in Architecture, but did land in the industry, selling Real Estate. Real Estate has since become her passion. Prior to Real Estate she was a Business Analyst for Dunn and Bradstreet and Office Manager for Johnson Controls. Kate's experience is strong and diverse. Her Real Estate adventures started out as an Appraiser in Illinois. Her spouse, Greg, was transferred to North Carolina and she was the trailing spouse. She wanted to get back into Real Estate and landed a career in new homes sales working for Washington/Westminster Homes. There Kate proved her knowledge, passion and skill and in less than two years, she was awarded the Silver and Gold Awards from the National Association of Home Builders in 1995 and 1996. She also received Sales Person of the Year in 1995 and 1996 from Washington/Westminster Homes. Upon many vacations to Arizona, they desired for a movie from the East Coast to the West and off they went. Arizona's wonderful climate, opportunity and overall beauty led them here. Kate started working for Russ Lyon Realty Company, a family owned boutique style Real Estate firm in the Valley since 1947. Kate, her husband Greg and daughter Grace love calling Arizona home. "If I could give Kathy Harris more than five stars, I would. We owned one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever lived in everything brand new, breathtaking mountain views, a giant lap pool with a diving board, peace and quiet with no neighbors for miles. You could literally hear a donkey braying in the distance. Inside, it was perfect for a couple seeking simplicity, tranquility, and true desert beauty.

☀️ Valley Market Musings – October 2025 Edition
The Arizona sun isn’t the only thing that’s been steady lately — our real estate market continues to keep its cool while still warming hearts (and home values)!

Sales ticked up a friendly +3.5% year over year, showing that buyers are still out there making moves, even if inventory is playing a little hard to get. Speaking of which, we saw 7,725 new listings, giving everyone a few more homes to swipe right on.

The median sales price landed at a solid $470,000, while the average price strutted in at $627,002 — not bad for the Valley of the Sun! Homes are taking about 83 days on the market, which means sellers need a touch of patience (and maybe a fresh pot of coffee for those showings).

With 4.26 months of supply, we’re balanced enough to keep both buyers and sellers happy — like a well-shaken margarita on a warm evening.

In short: the market is holding steady, the sunshine is still free, and opportunities abound for those ready to make a move.
