Thinking of moving to Prescott? Here are the top five questions I get asked from my buyers looking to relocate here.

#1 - Summer: Prescott sits at a mile-high elevation and unlike Phoenix, we rarely break 100 degrees in the summer. Yes, our days can still be warm, but our evenings always cool down and that little break in the heat makes such a difference.

#2 - Shopping/Groceries:Prescott actually has an amazing selection of grocery stores. From Sprouts and Natural Grocers to Fry’s and Safeway, take your pick. We also have the only Costco in Northern Arizona. As far as shopping goes, we have a great mix of box stores and local boutiques. For more high-end shopping, I always suggest a day trip down to Scottsdale.

#3 - Airport: While Prescott does have an airport, most residents drive down to Phoenix. It is about 1 hour and 45 minutes to Sky Harbor, which is an amazing international airport. We also have a shuttle service in town that drives to and from the airport daily.

#4 - Phoenix: As someone born and raised in Prescott, I’ve made the drive more times than I can count. When you live here, it honestly becomes second nature. In under two hours, you have access to incredible shopping, dining, and healthcare. That being said, it’s always best to avoid I-17 on Friday and Sunday afternoons because weekend traffic is very real.

#5 - Winter: Yes, we do get four true seasons which means cooler temperatures and a little snow. While we do not get constant snowfall, you can usually expect 1 to 2 small snowfalls each season. The snow typically melts within a day or two, and if you’re thinking about getting a new car, a 4x4 is always a good idea.

April was so good to us!

We had a wondeful Easter with family.

April was a busy month work wise. Multiple homes under contract and lots of time spend with new clients met through social media!

We went up to Flagstaff for a week to spend time with my sister and her family. Of course there was a cold snap (it even snowed) and us weenies were bundled up. Lol. Bo learned how to ride a pedal bike and a dirt bike, not sure if I am excited or concerned.

My sister convinced me to sign up for the Whiskey Basin 10k...I had no idea the majority of it would be climbing boulders through Prescott’s Dells. It kicked our butts, but I did get to explore trails that I had never been on and it was SO beautiful. I’ll be more prepared next time. ;)

Bo finished up teeball and the little boys developed an obsession with their bikes. They are on them all day everyday.

We’ve been loving the kids ages and how they are really starting to play. We are soaking up as much time as we can with our friends before we move full-time. May and June are going to be very bittersweet.

The sun is out, weather is gorgeous and we should all be spending as much time outside as possible.☀️ Allergy season will be coming to an end soon! 😉

The farmers market is back on it’s summer hours and there are so many fun events coming up.

I hope you like wine becuse this month definitely has a theme. Whether it is the Courthouse Square, Sharlotts Hall or even the Verde Valley, you will get to taste all of the local wines made here in Northern Arizona.

Being a mom of 3 under 3 has taught me, well, a lot of things, but it has also taught me more about real estate than any class or training ever could.

Tag a fellow mom who would get this! 😅

#1 - Every emotion, every day, is different, and it is no different in a real estate transaction. You learn to diffuse tension, find common ground, and keep moving forward.

#2 - Compassion and empathy are everything. Just like you never know what is going on with your baby or toddler, you never fully know what is going on with your client or the people on the other side of the deal. There is no room to get hot-headed.

#3 - And negotiating? Have you ever tried to reason with a toddler who is avoiding bedtime? Let’s just say I have had plenty of practice staying calm and finding creative solutions.

#4 - Problem solving is second nature at this point. Rarely do things go exactly as planned with kids or in real estate, so we pivot, adjust, and make it work every time.

Because at the end of the day, real estate is about people and the home they are building their life in, and it’s my job to make sure it happens!

Take Prescott, Arizona, for example, a charming small town in Northern Arizona sitting at about 5,000 ft. elevation. It has four mild seasons, endless outdoor adventures, and a mix of pine forests, sparkling lakes, and stunning granite boulders. Not a saguaro in sight 🌲
