The State Fair is back, Oktoberfest celebrations are happening around the Valley, and there are some pretty good concerts coming up too. If you have kids, there are a few fun Halloween and fall break activities to keep them busy.

I rounded up some events happening around Phoenix this month, so if your October weekends are still looking a little empty, here are a few ideas to get you started.

After all those weekends of open houses, this Cave Creek home is officially SOLD! 🙌

This home was truly one of a kind. It sits in a valley surrounded by mountains, with custom cabinetry throughout by Palo Verde Custom Cabinets and 1.6 acres that gave the property such a unique setting. The backyard had so much potential too, with plenty of room to create your own little resort right at home.

Really happy to have represented the seller on this one. It was a special property to bring to market, and seeing it all come together makes for a pretty great finish.

One thing I really like about this home is how easily the spaces can change with you.

That downstairs bedroom could be an office during the week and a guest room when family comes to town. Upstairs, the loft gives you another space to figure out as life changes, while the backyard and pool are right there for the days you’d rather be outside.

Now this Desert Peak home is officially sold! 🙌 I had the pleasure of representing the seller, and I’m excited for the new owners to make all these spaces their own.

There’s something about seeing a band live that immediately takes you back to whatever you were doing when you first started listening to them. This month definitely has a few of those.

The calendar says fall. Arizona says... not so fast. 😅

Late September around here can still feel a whole lot like summer. The AC is still putting in the hours, and after months of heat and summer storms, there are probably a few things around the house that could use a little attention.

It’s a good time to check in on the AC, roof, pool, landscaping, doors and windows, and tackle some of those little maintenance jobs that are easy to put off when it’s 100 degrees outside.

Cooler mornings and patio weather are coming though and I think we’re all more than ready for that part.

One thing I’ve always liked about living in Arizona is that you really don’t have to go far to feel like you got away for the weekend. A couple of hours in the car can take you somewhere that feels completely different from Phoenix.

1. Escape to Sedona
This is an easy one when you want a real change of scenery. Red rocks, hiking, good food, and plenty of places to slow down for a couple of days.

2. Enjoy the Cooler Weather in Flagstaff
When you’ve had enough of the Valley heat, heading north to the pines and cooler mountain air feels pretty good.

3. Explore Prescott
Prescott is great when you want a more laid-back weekend. Walk around downtown, stop by Wh***ey Row, or spend some time out by the lakes.

4. Relax at Lake Pleasant
Sometimes you don’t even need a full weekend away. Lake Pleasant is close enough for a spontaneous day on the water without spending half the day driving.

5. Stay at a Luxury Desert Resort
This might be the easiest getaway of all. Check into a resort in Scottsdale or Paradise Valley for a night or two and suddenly staying close to home doesn’t feel like staying home at all.

Arizona makes it pretty easy to change the scenery for a weekend. Sometimes a quick getaway is all you need.

The best sold posts don’t always need a big story. Sometimes it’s just nice to say, this one made it to the finish line. 🙌

I represented the seller on this Glendale home, and there were a lot of things that made it an easy one to picture someone living in. The kitchen opened right into the main living space, there was plenty of natural light, and the backyard was already set up for Arizona days by the pool.

Now the sign comes down, the keys change hands, and this one officially belongs to someone new.
