WM Phoenix Open 2026 WM Phoenix Open 2026
The Big Buzz for Wednesday’s Pro Am is whether Travis Kelce’s fiancé Taylor Swift will be in the gallery or not. This is what is driving the casual golf fans’ attention today.
When the main event starts tomorrow, it will be all eyes on Scottie Sheffler as the No.1 ranked golfer in the world and past champion. He has won his first start of the season so far and it doesn't look like he will be letting up on this tournament as a past champion. He has fond memories of Phoenix as it was his first big win and started the amazing streak he has continued.
Brooks Koepka is also a past Phoenix Open Champion competing this year in his return to the PGA Tour from the LIV tour. It’s his second event after struggling with his putter in San Diego last week. Looks like his ball striking and confidence have not been affected much by his minimal play in the last few years. You should remember that he left the PGA Tour for the LIV Tour when he was injured and did not know if he would be able to compete at a high level in the future. LIV provided him with limited events, time to heal, and a lot of money. He is held in a different view than others who were lured by the millions they were offering.
There are a lot of great young players in this year’s event including Akshay Bhatia and Sahith
Theegala who have done well in the past here. Likewise, there are local golfers, Joel Dahmen, Max Homa, and Jake Knapp. I am rooting for the local boys to go deep into the weekend and move up on the money list.
The weather should be perfect and showcase how beautiful in can be wintertime in the Valley of the Sun.
