Degree in Business Management and Marketing. He spent the earlier part of his sales career working as the regional representative for both Levi Strauss and Citizen Watch Companies. After building a strong foundation for Citizen Watch Company in the New Mexico and Colorado territories he decided to focus his career back to Arizona where he could spend more time with his family and peers. Alan found
a passion for real estate in 1984 where he began working for builders as an on site agent. His respect for client/builder relationships, professionalism, knowledge, and sales volume earned him the highest honor ever received by an Arizona real estate agent. He was selected by The National Association of Home Builders as The National Rookie Sales Person of The Year. Constantly raising the bar on professionalism within the industry he was also recognized as the local real estate salesperson of year once and nominated three additional years by receiving the award for Major Achievement for Merchandising Excellence. Taking his career to a new level in 1979 he began sales, marketing, and business development for custom home builders in the North Scottsdale Market. He became the exclusive representative for such builders as SBC Custom Homes, Jesse Hill Custom Homes, Standing Rock Custom Homes, and LaBlonde Custom Homes. His thirst for land knowledge and new home construction gave him the upper edge advantage to help the consumer find the best land values and the right residences. Working at that time for Coldwell Banker he was awarded The Top Producer in 2004, with an excess of $30,000,000 in volume. In 2005 he expanded his goals once again to become the managing partner of Distinctive Luxury Properties. Not only did he manage a small boutique real estate company, but he continued to develop ongoing relationships with builders, investors, home buyers and sellers. Distinctive Luxury Properties was acquired by Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty in 2008. He is certified in short sales and foreclosures and is a Real Estate Special Commissioner for Maricopa County Superior Courts. His extensive background has given Alan the ability to be a great problem solver to bring buyers and seller together for successful transactions, he listens to his client’s needs and requests, and he has fine tuned his negotiation skills to save his buyer’s thousands of dollars along with maximizing his seller’s top prices. His commitment to his clients and builders has given him the highest honor he could receive; over 75% of his new business comes from referrals! Besides working Alan enjoys snow and water skiing, scuba diving, and is a competitive shooter with his youngest son. Derek his oldest son is the Chief Technical Officer for Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, developing new and cutting edge web and marketing based technology for the company.
