Here’s a little perspective for anyone wondering whether homes are still selling: through August 2026, closed single-family home sales were up 11.6% in Scottsdale and 2.1% in Phoenix compared with the same period last year.
August itself was slower in both cities, so those gains don’t mean every listing is flying off the market.
My take? Your neighborhood matters more than a headline. Nearby sales, competing homes, and how your property shows all help determine your next move.

The “For Sale” sign is the easy part. What happens next is where experience earns its keep.
I get why selling your own home sounds appealing. Saving on commission feels like keeping more money in your pocket. But your bottom line depends on every decision between listing day and closing day.
Here’s where having an agent in your corner matters:
🤝 Pricing against your actual competition not just what an online estimate says.
🤝 Showing buyers what makes your home worth seeing and getting it in front of them.
🤝 Comparing the whole offer. The highest price can come with concessions and conditions that change the math.
