If you’ve been on the fence about buying a home, there are two reasons you may want to take another look at today’s market.

First: You can save money in negotiations.

Many sellers are more willing to negotiate than they were a few years ago. Depending on the home, that could mean help with closing costs, a mortgage rate buy-down, or repairs before closing.

Second: You can save yourself some stress.

With more homes on the market, buyers often have more time to make thoughtful decisions. Instead of feeling like you have to see a home once and write an offer within 24 hours, today’s market can give you a little more breathing room.

Every buyer’s situation is different, but if you’ve been waiting for the “right” time, it may be worth exploring what your options look like now.

Smart shoppers know their advantage right now is in the amount of inventory on the market, not necessarily interest rates (and if you buy now and rates come down meaningfully later, you can refinance).

Right now, there are 18 floating homes on the market across Seattle which is a good amount of inventory for this niche market.

That means more styles, more views, more price ranges, and more opportunities to find the one that fits the way you want to live on the water.

Here’s what I’m telling buyers right now:
There’s a rare window of choice at the moment.
Floating homes don’t always come up in clusters like this. If you’ve been casually browsing for a while, there’s currently more to compare than we often see at once.

Buying before peak summer has advantages.

Once we hit consistent sunshine and everyone remembers how magical Seattle is on the water, floating homes tend to get a lot more attention. More buyers start jumping in, and the best homes can move quickly.

Shopping now gives you time and options.

You can compare locations, views, rooftop spaces, parking, boat slips, and the details that really matter without feeling rushed into the first one you love.
Floating home living is incredibly special (ask me, I know!) but every home and every dock has its own personality. Finding the right fit is everything.
