➡️ for market stats for Seattle, Eastside & King County.
Mortgage interest rates dropped last Wednesday to their lowest point (6.15%) since February 2023 (nearly 8%!), and the real estate market in Seattle responded across the board. Pendings took a big spike up, a trend across the Eastside and King County as well.
Inventory is on the rise, but my prediction is that with interest rates dropping, we’ll see home prices increase, as more buyers that have been waiting for the Fed cut announcement jump in the game in the coming weeks.

How's real estate? We're seeing a big seasonal uptick in listings - there's finally some inventory for buyers to choose from. Pendings and Solds are both down week over week, which tracks - last week included Labor Day weekend. Anecdotally, my title officer is seeing a 40% YoY increase on title orders - that means an inventory surge is coming. I also got a pre-approval letter on a listing recently with a 5.75% interest rate from a major lender. THAT'S a massive shift! I'm predicting that we'll see pendings trend up in the next few weeks, as buyers start getting surprisingly positive news when they apply for pre-approvals.
