Congratulations to Jennifer on closing one chapter and stepping boldly into the next! 🎉

Jennifer lived in her Renton home for 27 years. Life happened — as it does — and for years she found herself wondering whether it was time to find something with less maintenance, less land (her home sat on a full acre), and fewer memories tied to the husband she lost. That’s not an easy place to sit in, and it takes real courage to finally make the move.

We listed her home, and in just five days had 14 showings and two offers. The day before we listed, we put in a contingent offer on a condo in the exact community she had her heart set on. 24 showings. 25 days. Zero offers

When the market tells you it typically takes 13 showings to get a house under contract — that’s not bad luck. That’s a signal.

My client and I had a conversation early on about staging. She decided to skip it, and I respected that. But I made her a deal: we do it your way first — and if we hit a wall, we try it my way.

37 days in, she called it. “I think we need to stage this thing.” So we did. Full staging. New listing media. Back on the market — no price reduction.

The next 5 days? 6 showings. At that stage in a listing, without a price drop, that doesn’t happen. Then a cash offer came in.

We closed 9 days later.

Same house. Same price. Different presentation.
If that’s not the most compelling argument for staging, I don’t know what is.
