Please consider supporting our May Day fundraiser benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of my husband, Mark. While the raffle winners have now been selected, the fundraiser itself continues, and every donation, no matter the size, still makes a meaningful difference for families affected by Alzheimer’s.

May Day has always represented renewal, hope, and showing up for one another. This season of life has reminded me just how important community truly is, especially for families navigating Alzheimer’s and related diseases.

Happy 29th to our son Evan, who has worked incredibly hard and quietly built a life he is proud of, just the way he likes it, without the fanfare.

Watching you chase your dream, moving multiple times, putting in long hours, and ultimately landing in Chicago to fly commercially is a has joy to watch as parents. Seeing that dream become reality is something we never take for granted.

What makes us even prouder is the way you have learned to balance it all. The sacrifices you have made, the dedication you have shown, and settled in another big city the way you make space for friendships, family, and time for yourself, that is what truly matters.

Our daughter Kalia looks like the perfect Valentine’s Day package! I wanted to share my pride in her beauty, inside and out, and my optimism for tomorrow.

She and our son in law Tanner are expecting their first child, and our first grandchild, in April. They have been busy making plans and preparations, taking classes and doing everything they can to be thoughtful, present parents.

Yesterday, Kalia’s work friends hosted a sprinkle, a mini baby shower, and she sent me this photo of herself after freshening up before the party. She chose the most darling dress. It may be hard to see just how pregnant she really is, but I assure you she is blooming with new life, and that fills my heart with joy.

Mark and I learned much along our parenting journey, and I am still learning every day. I feel grateful that they have access to resources and support that we had little of. I have much confidence in their love, care, and intention. They are building a home surrounded by a loving family and a tribe of friends who are individually and collectively so supportive.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with love, hope, and joy for a better tomorrow.
