James Hemphill Jr, REALTOR Learn the 5 Mistakes Homebuyers Must Avoid To Save Thousands! 😫 https://jthpremierhomes.com/webinar In 2009, I made a bold move. At first, things went well.

I packed my entire life into my car and drove across the country from Columbus, Ohio, to Seattle, Washington. Coca-Cola had recruited me for a leadership position in their Supply Chain Logistics division, and while it was an exciting opportunity, it was also scary. I was alone, in a brand-new state, renting an apartment when I was used to living in a house. But I held off on buying a home because I wasn’t sure if I’d stay in Washington long-term. Fast forward a few years, I met my now-wife, and everything changed. We were building a life together, and I knew it was time to plant roots. We wanted a home of our own, a place to grow and create memories. I had no idea where to start, so I reached out to a mortgage advisor, who connected me with a real estate agent. The process went smoothly, but the experience wasn’t anything special—I got the house, but I didn’t feel guided, supported, or educated. At the same time, I was still grinding away at my job in logistics. I worked long hours, often on night shifts, managing warehouses and teams with unrealistic expectations. Every day felt like a battle—if something went wrong, middle management got blamed, no matter the real cause. I was burned out, exhausted, and starting to realize this job wasn’t the future I wanted for myself or my family. When I came home, I wasn’t the best version of myself. My unpredictable schedule put a strain on my marriage, and I knew something had to change. One day, my wife asked, "Have you ever thought about being a real estate agent?" The question stuck with me. Real estate had helped me establish roots, and I saw firsthand how important a great agent could be. But the idea of leaving a steady six-figure job for a commission-only career terrified me. Despite my fears, I decided to take the leap. I got my real estate license and started working part-time while keeping my corporate job. For 16 months, I hustled—learning the business, working with clients, and trying to build something sustainable. Eventually, I built enough confidence to make the full-time switch. I was closing a deal every other month. But then, business slowed down, and the pandemic hit. Suddenly, I was scrambling to make ends meet. I even drove for Uber just to pay the bills. The thought of going back to my old job crossed my mind, but I refused to quit. Instead, I doubled down, restructured my approach, and worked harder than ever to rebuild my real estate business. Through perseverance, I turned things around. I learned how to truly serve my clients at the highest level—not just help them buy or sell, but guide them through the process with clarity and confidence. I realized that many families, like my wife and I once were, struggled with the challenge of selling their home while trying to buy their next one. The process can be overwhelming, with timing issues, financial concerns, and the stress of moving all piling up. That’s where I come in. Today, I specialize in helping growing families in Everett, WA, solve the challenge of selling and buying a home at the same time, so they can achieve a smooth, stress-free move within their desired timeline. I know what it’s like to be in their shoes—making big life decisions, feeling the pressure of timing, and wanting everything to work out seamlessly. That’s why I take the guesswork out of the process, helping my clients sell for top dollar and transition into their dream home with ease. I’ve been where my clients are. I know the stress of uprooting your life, the fear of making the wrong financial move, and the excitement of finding a home that finally fits your family’s needs. My journey has taught me that the right home isn’t just about the property itself—it’s about creating a foundation for the life you want. If you’re a growing family in Everett, WA, ready to upsize but feeling overwhelmed by how to sell your current home while buying your next one, let’s talk. I’ll help you make the move with confidence, on your terms, and without unnecessary stress.
